TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Rock ‘N Learn has been creating materials for over 30 years. They are used in schools nationwide and throughout the world. We get rave reviews from teachers, parents who home school, and conscientious parents wanting to give their kids an extra boost.

Rock ‘N Learn is a team of educators, parents, and entertainers who share a passion for making a difference in the lives of kids. We treasure the emotional success stories from parents with kids of all ability levels and particularly those with special needs: gifted, speech delayed, learning disabled, and autism spectrum disorders. Whatever the age or challenges, let us help your students learn!

MY TEACHING STYLE

We believe in introducing topics in a way that sparks the interest of students: with songs, videos, and entertaining characters. Then we like to provide plenty of practice in ways that make learning easier for students: with games, interactive materials, or sometimes art! The manner of assessing what a student has learned doesn't always have to be a written test.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Working as a school psychologist in 1986, Richard saw the need for multi-sensory learning programs using the styles of music that kids love. He teamed with his younger brother Brad, an accomplished musician, to record their first program to help kids learn multiplication facts.

Richard and Brad never varied from their number one goal of providing children with programs that would make learning easier and fun. Brad's wife Melissa, an elementary teacher, writes scripts and material, and coordinates educational research for Rock 'N Learn. She is now taking the helm in developing activities and worksheets to accompany Rock 'N Learn's award winning videos, while continuing work in the classroom as a substitute teacher for elementary grades.

As documented in case studies by numerous school districts, Rock 'N Learn programs work. The overwhelmingly positive response from parents, teachers, and kids generates tremendous word-of-mouth support. By consulting with educators and featuring talented vocalists and performers, Rock 'N Learn will continue to develop quality programs that hold interest and help kids learn.
