I have been working in Special Education for 5 years now. My experience includes best practices for various disabilities, but primarily I work with students on the Autism Spectrum.
My teaching style is a combination of structure and natural learning. Students work through formal experiences such as structured groups that target very specific goals. Additionally, students have planned less structured experiences such as thematic play stations and thematic word and language building activities. The goal in my classroom is to build as much literacy, social, and language skills as possible during the primary grades.
