TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I teach English as a Second Language to junior high school students in Gunma, Japan. I've taught ELL in Japan since 2011. I couldn't have predicted any of the situations I've come across in my classes here and because of them I've grown incalculably. Most of my lessons are team-taught and when I am working with a teacher open to non-traditional instruction I have the freedom to plan activities or units of cooperative learning product or performance based activities.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Everything is about the students. I use tools such as cooperative learning, differentiation, and my background in creative writing to engage students in active, experiential learning.
