TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Experience teaching in special education: mild to moderate and severe disabilities - all grades, specifically K-5 and 9-12. Focus on Life Skills in the classroom, high-functioning severe education, language arts, math, social skills. Currently employed as 9th through 12th grade special education teacher in the highest functioning severe classroom. Previously taught mild/moderate special education: 10th grade Language Arts, Credit Recovery, Sociology and Current Events.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I prefer to focus on the holistic development of each student. I feel traditional classroom settings, though useful, are not the best means when trying to inspire each student while facilitating both academic and personal growth. I believe each of my students is a rockstar, and each has their own talents and strengths - together, our classroom is not a symphony, but a rockin' band that values each member individually!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
