TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been a high school English teacher for four years! I'm currently teaching 10th grade AIS as well as 10th grade honors. I've taught disciplinary night school, summer school, and everything in between. Most of my products can be used for a variety of students, as within my own classroom, my population is incredibly diverse. I've found that my particular type of graphic organizer seems to work best. My struggling students find the structure helpful, and my stronger students like to have their thoughts focused in a particular direction before they dig down deep!

MY TEACHING STYLE

As a budding literacy specialist, I like to focus most of my lessons of literacy skills that I think my students so frequently lack. We too often assume that because our students have made it to high school, that they are proficient readers. My handouts are often somewhat simple at first glance, but as the teacher, you can model more complex thinking for your stronger students.
