I have been teaching a special day class for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders since 2009. It is an academic based program with an extra focus on teaching social skills, behavior management, and increases communication skills. I have taught grades from transitional kindergarten to 2nd grade.
-ABA approach for classroom management -Address common core standards with accommodations and modifications for students with moderate/severe disabilities. -Use lots of visuals in a highly structured environment. -Address social/emotional and behavior needs as well as academics.
-Grant supported program for M.A. in Autism -Graduated Summa Cum Laude from SDSU
-B.A. in Liberal Studies with a specialization in Human Development -CA State Teaching Credential in Moderate/Severe Disabilities -M.A. in Autism
-Focus on autism and related disorders including: Speech Language Impairment, Other Health Impaired, Behavior Disorders, ADD/ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities
