A test for drawing conclusions or making inferences. I carefully planted clues, but not the actual facts. This test will certainly force students to use their inferring skills.

Great assessment for students because it requires them to read the text and find the answers within. Mostly multiple choice, but there are two open-ended questions as well. I threw in a Venn diagram just for good measure.

This is a second edition of an author's purpose test. I already created an author's purpose test, but made this second one when we revisited this skill. Both tests are about the same length, with questions of the similar difficulty.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught 3rd grade for 17 years. I am now a behavior interventionist at a middle school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is all over the place...just like the learning styles of our children. One thing is for sure, if I'm bored with it, chances are, so are the kids. Above all, I simply work hard to make my lessons thorough, standards-based, and fun.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was Teacher of the Year at Hunt Meadows Elementary in 2006. I received an Excellence Award from the South Carolina Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association for a video I made for my school in 2010. In 2013 I was honored as a WYFF News 4 Golden Apple Award winner.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my B.A. in Elementary Education from Furman University in 2000. In 2001 I received a Masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis also from Furman. In 2017 I received my Ed.S in School Leadership.
