A high school English teacher for over 25 years, Jill Spencer currently teaches writing at a community college.
Every class has a unique personality. Strategies that work beautifully with one may flop with another. That's why it's important to keep up with a variety of best teaching practices. To that end, I'm always experimenting-- modifying old strategies and trying out new ones. Seriously evaluating and applying new ideas in my classes keeps teaching fresh for me. I've also been told that it makes my courses fun! From students these days, that's a real compliment!
