The three of us have 10 years teaching experience in the Chicago Public School system. We are leaders in our school who initiated and collaborate on teams such as balanced literacy, positive behavior intervention support (PBIS), Instructional Leadership, Response to Intervention (RTI), professional development team, and more. We provide ongoing professional development to our school and schools throughout our community.
We are a team of 3 teachers who have worked collaboratively for the past 8 years to transform our school from traditional teaching to a school that utilizes: -a balanced literacy approach to reading, writing, and word study -a gradual release of responsibility workshop approach in all subject areas -inquiry based content area instruction -authentic assessment/data and CCSS to drive instruction -a professional learning community with a culture of collaboration -students' interests, learning styles, and strengths in curriculum design
