TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently teach English 6 for a virtual school in Wisconsin. My students follow the K12 curriculum, but I create many of my own resources such as Powerpoints, graphic organizers, and assignments. Previously,I taught middle school language arts, reading intervention, and social studies for several years in Madison, WI. I have also facilitated a home-school co-op. I have tutored students since I was in middle school myself!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My goal is to make sure every student is actively engaged. My lessons are student-centered and interactive. I have high expectations but I am always energetic, positive, and professional. I connect learning to real life situations that students can relate to. My priority is building strong relationships with my students and families and ensuring I help each student reach his or her potential. Each day, we start our lesson with a different growth mindset quote. My motto is "practice makes progress"!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I graduated college with a 4.00 to earn the summa cum laude honor.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Ashford University in Clinton, IA with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K8). I have endorsements in middle school, English, and science.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My whole life, I have loved to teach! From making my little brother play school, tutoring, teaching bible and summer camps, and eventually having my own classroom, teaching is my passion! My students live all over Wisconsin, and I teach in my virtual classroom! When I am not teaching, I am traveling with my husband, at the dog park with my husky, or crafting!
