For the past six plus years I have taught middle school as well as high school English Language Arts. My favorite grade level to teach was Freshmen English (Honors/ Pre-AP). I was also involved with student council as well as our high school AVID program.
I love making the ELA course content RELEVANT to students. I often use CHOICE as a means of reaching students, which often means using technology. I want all of my students to leave my classroom feeling that they can read, write, think, and communicate like their voice MATTERS.
I could list them here and inflate my pride...or I can tell you that the greatest honor is to be an educator and inspire children to reach their greatest potential. I'll go with the latter. ;)
I have a Bachelor's of English as well as a Master's of Curriculum and Instruction.
Grace upon grace. I believe that the teaching profession is one that is both challenging and rewarding. This requires grace. So I often give myself grace in everything I do. Presently, I live in Dallas, Texas with my awesome husband and schnauzer. I love to explore new eateries and also dabble in photography and inspirational writing. Sweet tea is the best! I hope you find materials and resources here to help you ENJOY your classroom and CONNECT with your students more!
