TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 5th year teaching. During my tenure, I've had the opportunity to teach grades 7-12 in all areas of science. I've just recently delved into Career & Technical Education; I started an Applied Biochemistry pathway at my school last year. Because I teach in such a small school, I am also the concurrent College Composition teacher for our seniors. I wear many hats in our district, but enjoy each and every one of them for many reasons. I love the diversity my job in a small school provides.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a fun, creative, and energetic teacher. I think my students would describe my classroom as more relaxed than most, but that does not mean that I expect any less of them. On the contrary, my flexible and relaxed take on teaching often makes students more accountable for their own education, and I think that they learn more because of it.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I am a proud graduate of Dighton High School. I graded from Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS with my degrees in secondary education & English. Not long after, I was hired as the 9-12 science instructor at my alma mater. During the years after my hiring, I've worked to become highly qualified in Biology, Earth & Space Science, and Chemistry via the Praxis Exams.
