Because my husband Andy and I are a team in this enterprise which we call “Rushnok Science”, I’ve included his biographical information in this summary along with mine. For my part, I have 30 years of experience teaching accounting and other business subjects in public, private, and post-secondary schools. In parallel with that, I also have 22 years of experience in teaching computer applications including Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Moodle and several other packages. Andy’s direct teaching experience consisted of training adults as a corporate trainer, which he did in parallel with his other work duties on his job. He has a Bachelor's degree in physics, and a Master's in nuclear engineering. He has also been a science fair judge for several years.
I like to have my students work on projects which challenge them to learn and apply the concepts I introduce to them in class. I believe that “hands-on learning”, by actively applying your knowledge to a problem or project, leads to better understanding and appreciation of the subject matter.
Yet to be added
My education includes a BS in Accounting (University of Akron), a BS in Business (University of Akron), (Certified to teach all business subjects). Andy’s background includes a BS in Physics (Indiana University of Pennsylvania), MS in Nuclear Engineering (Penn State), and an MBA (University of Akron)
I have used Camtasia to produce instructional videos, and have developed project based learning packages.
