TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I retired in June 2018 from a 32 year teaching career in Ontario. Now I work one-to-one with students with special needs. I've taught JK-Grade 8 and most recently was teaching a special education class with students with developmental disabilities and autism as well as the alphabet of other co-morbid conditions (ADHD, ODD, FAE, etc.)

MY TEACHING STYLE

My philosophy follows Richard Lavoie's quote "Fair doesn't mean giving every child the same thing, it means giving every child what they need." In working with students with many special needs, I've developed an expertise in programming for individual needs and found a great deal of success in using independent work stations for students with complex needs.
