TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began teaching English (literature, language, and some drama) to grades 6 through 12, and also beginner's Latin. After a couple of years I began to focus mostly on higher level literature. Then having moved countries, schools etc I was asked to be home-room teacher to grade 6 and have finally settled down as a Religion teacher for Middle School. My own interests have always been literature and religion and I am a poet on the side.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I try to vary the material and style of my lessons and to incorporate visual illustrations as much as possible. I like to stay on task BUT what matters most to me is that the children are engaged, interested, thinking, and if they have a genuine question especially about something important in religion (which is more than just a subject to me) I am happy to enter into an explanation, story or passionate discussion, if not immediately, then at a later date. I want them to care about seeking the truth and sharing it.
