TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a 8th year teacher and loving every minute of it! I currently teach 2nd grade in a small Texas town and this is my sixth year at this grade level and I've also spent two years in 1st grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in the power of hands on learning. Engagement doesn't come from a worksheet. Engagement comes from experiences and movement.

I am a proud graduate of Texas Tech University! GO RED RAIDERS!!! I graduated in May of 2010 with my Bachelor degree in Multidisciplinary Studies and minor in Agricultural Communications. Before attending TTU, I earned my Associates of Arts and Teaching Degree from South Plains College in 2008. I am certified to teach EC-6th grades and am ESL certified. I'm currently working on a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

I'm a professional presenter for SDE (Staff Development for Educators). I've spoken on topics such as vocabulary, guided math, hands on math, struggling readers and much more. I've spoken and attended at their National conference in Las Vegas for iTeach 2nd for the past 4 years and participated in several smaller regional conferences.
