TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been lucky in my teaching career to have taught in various schools, states and grades! I began my career in New York as a Reading Interventionist (PreK-4), then continuing in New York taught 4th, 5th and 3rd (in that order)- I taught in an inclusion classroom in 4th grade (all subjects), then focused on ELA in 5th grade, then back to 4th to teach ELA/SS, followed by 3rd grade. Next, I moved on to Georgia where I taught Kindergarten. **I have written curriculum across the grade levels and I have aligned curriculum to CCSS. I am trained in NYS test prep and have an array of experiences in the classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that each child is a different learner. When you know the child and their learning style, you can guide them to success. I love to teach using Reader's and Writer's Workshop because it allows the child choice, while challenging the child at their ability level. It's important to push children to do their best because they are more capable than they know they are.
