I have over 30 years of experience in classroom teaching, educational management, and homeschooling. This includes the elementary classroom at five grade levels, curriculum development, teacher development, and now homeschooling. I am committed to creating unique and fun learning materials, especially those that work well for children who learn differently. I enjoy creating teaching materials and collaborate with my husband who is a graphic and website designer. I blog at sallieborrink.com and our business site is davidandsallie.com.
My preferred teaching approach in the classroom is hands-on activities with integrated subject matter. My approach as a homeschooler would best be described as relaxed homeschooling. I write extensively about homeschooling on my website, including homeschooling a gifted/2e child.
The accomplishment I am most proud of is homeschooling my twice-exceptional (2e) daughter. After relentlessly pursuing information to understand her unique set of gifts and learning challenges from the time she was tiny, one of the most satisfying moments of my life was when the doctor who performed her gifted testing confirmed that I had correctly figured out almost everything related to my daughter. As a mother and and educator, I was thrilled to know I had done my best for my child and succeeded through so much diligent research, studying, and prayer.
