I've taught for 7 Years in two different elementary schools. My first year, I taught 4th grade. I then moved to lower elementary and found my passion. I love the little ones!! For three years, I team taught a 1st and 2nd grade multiage classroom which was one of the best experiences of my educational life. After we ended the multiage, I taught second grade for the next three years. I'm currently at home raising my family, doing learning activities with my four girls, creating resources, writing for my website & two Catholic magazines. I also teach religious education to first graders at our church each year.

In the classroom, I was required to use the workshop model for reading and writing. I loved it so much that once we added math workshop to the mix, it was a natural transition. This allowed me to use small groups, teach to the individual learner and make learning more hands on. My classroom is all about having fun while learning, kids being able to move and groove, high expectations and student responsibility for their own learning.

I got both my undergrad and Master's degrees from U of M (The University of Michigan.) My undergrad major was language arts with a math minor. I have a Masters of Arts with a Reading Specialist Endorsement.
