I have spent the last 14 years teaching in and around Chicago in different school settings including general education schools, a therapeutic day school for students with severe behavioral disorders, and in a self-contained special education high school for students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. I also have experience working as a district special education administrator. My passion lies in preparing students for their transition to adulthood and have worked as a life-skills/work skills teacher for 10 years.
My teaching style is multimodal and incorporates technology, high interest/low readability materials. I find it extremely important to not only teach students academics but also the skills they need to successfully transition from school to being a productive member of society.
