I taught art at a middle school for 2.5 years and I am currently teaching art at an elementary school. I will have been teaching for a total of 6.5 years at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.
I teach in a step-by-step method at most times. I always have an example created of the project that I am going to do with the students, and I take pictures of student's artwork once they complete it so that I can use it as examples the following year. The student feels as though they can do it once they see artwork by students their own age!

I received a Bachelor's in Art Education from Valdosta State University in December of 2007. I also recently finished my Master's degree from Valdosta State in July of 2013!
I am pretty tough on my students, but I've been amazed at some of the results that I have gotten. I believe in having a very controlled environment for the students to work in, in order for their work to be it's absolute best. Students must check with me before moving on to a new step ALWAYS. This helps with the product being neater as a whole. I feel as though elementary students need a lot of guidance when it comes to art. Individualism begins as they get older and as they get inspired by other artists or other things in general.
