Students apply their knowledge of fractions in a concrete, delicious way! Students will be given a baggie or handful of froot loops to work with, so each student will be using different fractions. I liked to put the cereal in the small baggie ahead

I created this circle fanfold using a paper plate with my seventh grade classroom. It helped them visual the diameter, radius, and center, so I expanded it to include the area, circumference formulas for a circle, and area formula for a semi-circle.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began my teaching experience with fifth grade during student teaching. I loved all 30 of my students and had an amazing cooperating teacher. I spent the spring substitute teaching in various school districts in my area until I began a long term sub position in 7th/8th grade math. It was very different from student teaching, but I enjoyed my time there, as well. I am starting my fourth year at my current school. I began as an RtI aide, where I assisted students in math and reading. I spent two years teaching third grade, and now I'm back in the RtI role for math.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I prefer student driven, hands on lessons. We use lots of graphic organizers and move around the room. We also love educational videos to supplement lessons!
