I have three years of experience. My first job teaching was teaching ninth grade English at an inner city high school. Next, I was the resource teacher for grades 1-3 at a rural high performing elementary school. Currently, I am teaching at a rural struggling title 1 high school in south Louisiana. I am an inclusion teacher, and teach a class of Pre-GED students English.
I rely heavily on differentiated instruction in my classroom. I like to use things like graphic organizers, and project based learning to engage my students. Also, we are preparing for the GED test therefore I do a lot of computer assisted instruction for GED test prep.
I was published in the student history journal "Clio's Quill". I earned my alt. cert. with a 4.0 GPA. I earned my masters with a 4.0 GPA.
I have a BA in history with a minor in English from the University of Louisiana. I have an alternative certification in special education grades K-12. I have a MAT from Louisiana College.
