I have been an ASCP (cm) certified generalist Medical Technologist (Clinical Laboratory Technologist) for 8 years, holding a Florida license in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immunohematology (Blood Bank), Serology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. I have spent the past 8 years working in a hospital laboratory as a bench tech, and have spent 4 years as the laboratory's education coordinator. In this role I have designed, implimented and facilitated learning modules, as well as performed mentoring and taught hands-on training for current and new employees, and for students doing their internship in the lab.
I try to make all of the information I bring to my students fun yet educational. I love using "real world" scenarios, and always try to talk through or demonstrate the topic multiple ways, which I find helps the student become fully competent and tends to fill in any weak holes they may have.
Recognized for exemplary teaching from each students' university, as well as inter-departmentally.
Bachelor's of Science in Biology, minors in Chemistry and French from the University of Miami, graduated 2002. Florida Hospital School of Medical Technology, graduated 2004.
