I am in my 13th year as an educator. I taught 11 years in 2nd through 4th grade. I am currently a math/science instructional coach in Dallas, Texas. I have been at the same campus for my whole educator career.
I teach using multiple learning styles and try to reach every child, not just cognitively, but emotionally also. I try to convey to all my students that I care about them. I create a lot of my own resources because I try to teach to the students I have at the moment, which changes from year-to-year. As a coach, I try to create aligned resources for the teachers to use in their classrooms.
The biggest honor I receive is when past students come to visit me. I love hearing how successful they are being later on. I also love when they tell me how much of an impact I have made on their lives. It makes all the hard times in teaching a little easier.
I attending Tarrant County College between 2000-2004, where I earned an Associates in Arts degree. I received by Bachelor's of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2006.
I have been married for 17 years and have a 7-year old son. I love my job, and can't see myself doing anything else. I have a passion for teaching, as well as learning. I love learning and helping others learn.
