I've been teaching for nine years this year. In my first two years I taught Grade 6 and 7 English Home and First Additional Language. I then relocated and taught Grade 5 at another school for 3 years. I am now at my third school and have been teaching Grade 6 here for going on 4 years. I am Head of my Grade at this particular school.
I am an extremely structured person that thrives on routine and discipline. I believe children work well when they know what to expect and know their boundaries. I run a well-organised classroom where everyone is considered family. We look out for one-another and make sure that everyone is included and feels worthwhile. I enjoy creating new and interesting lessons for my class and often do lessons on the spur of the moment, depending on where the day takes us. My goal is for children to leave my class at the end of the school year, better human-beings. A human-being that is compassionate, takes others into account and pays attention to every detail.
