TEACHING EXPERIENCE

It's my 13th year (lucky 13th!!) as a bilingual speech path in Illinois! I've worked in urban, suburban, and rural locations across three different school districts, but the majority of my work experience has been in Chicago Public Schools. I speak Spanish so that's my favorite thing to do in speech! Little known fact: I worked at Kraft Foods for four years before returning to school to be a speech-language pathologist! :)

MY TEACHING STYLE

My goal is to encourage expressive communication and to develop oral language. My teaching style focuses on having students feel comfortable so that they talk as much as possible. They need to feel at ease communicating and sharing their their thoughts and opinions.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In graduate school I received scholarships for academic achievement and I was the president of NSSLHA.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

1) 2006 -- MA, Speech-Language Pathology, Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois... 2) 1999 -- BA, Spanish and Business, University of Wisconsin - Madison
