I have taught in Melbourne Schools for over 12 Years. Originally at Overnewton Anglican Community College then at Carey Baptist Grammar School, I am now head of Strings at St Leonards College, East Brighton. I am a freelance violinist as well as a violin and viola teacher. I play with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra and Australian Discovery Orchestra as well as for many amateur musical theatre shows. I often tutor for Youth Music organisations such as State Music Camp and Melbourne Youth Music in various ensembles.
I began learning Violin at the age of 3 using the Suzuki Method. While I am not Suzuki trained, I have employed some of their techniques as well as those of more traditional teachers such as the Roland Method. I love anything that makes learning more interactive, intuitive and fun! Especially with little children, learning needs to be fun so that the practice at home is always carried out diligently and with purpose.
