I taught 1rst, 5th, and 6th grades in an urban arts magnet school. Afterward, I taught EFL/ESL grades 7-9 at a Japanese Junior High School outside of Tokyo. Most recently I taught K-5 ESL resource at a Chicago suburban school, and for the past four years returned to the classroom at that same suburban school to teach 2nd and 3rd grades.
I would characterize my teaching style as constructivist, student centered, and responsive to student learning. Through questioning, inquiry based methods, and hands-on explorations I allow students to explore their learning and create meaning.
Graduated with honors with my M.Ed from DePaul University majoring in Bilingual/Bicultural Education.
