I began my first experience working with children when I was 18 years old when I began working at a preschool. It was there that I learned my excitement and love of teaching. I knew without a doubt that it was going to be my life. I worked through five years of college and have now since been teaching three years in kindergarten. It was always my dream.
I can not stand a quiet classroom. When the children are working, I always find a different type of music to play. Sometimes when we work in groups, it is Jack Johnson. My teaching style is that I am okay with giving the children time to learn things by figuring it out. Sometimes I pretend that I don't have an answer so that they will figure one out. I encourage them to ask questions and to also explain their ideas. I create a loving and free spirit classroom that the children and I both enjoy walking into everyday.
