I have been a teacher for nearly 30 years and my passion for working with kids continues to grow. I have worked as a general education teacher, a literacy staff developer and a special education teacher for PK-8th grade students diagnosed with Autism, Intellectual and Cognitive Disabilities and Emotional Disturbance. Everyday is a new opportunity for my students to learn from me and for me to learn from them!
I believe to truly be an effective teacher I must come to know every student as an individual and help each one to find and use his or her own special gifts. I strive to create a structured and scaffolded learning environment that promotes independence and opportunities for academic, social and emotional growth for every child. Mutual respect, positive interactions, and of course humor!!! are all part of our classroom environment.

In my free time (Ha! What's that?!) I like to spend time with my 2 lovely daughters, relax on the beach, walk on the boardwalk, cook (especially Paleo!), play with my dog, travel, and of course binge watch awesome TV!
