TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My name is Melissa Schaeffer and I am currently a special education teacher. I have had experience working with students at all grade levels K-12, which makes me an excellent resource for you! I am currently a special education teacher in a communication development program working with students with emotional/behavioral complications and students on the autsim spectrum at the Kindergarten-3rd grade level. I love working with my students to reach their full potential and to bring awareness to their strengths that they have.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a very patient individual that loves to have fun while learning/teaching! As a special educator, I am always used to the need to adapt and be flexible to the needs of all of my learners. I am capable of modifying curriculum into a way that is comprehensive to all types of learners while still meeting the core state standards that are necessary. I am motivated by seeing the success in my students. Not only do I love teaching, but I love that I get the opportunity to also learn from my students/learners as well.
