I was born and raised in Tampa, FL and actually attended the elementary school I work at for a short time. I went to THE Florida State University and graduated in 2006. I have a BA in Humanities and 20th Century English Literature. As soon as I graduated, I was employed as a HS English Teacher at a private school (grades 8-12). When my year was up, I decided I needed something more challenging. After a little time off from teaching, I accepted a job at another private school for students with special needs. I worked with students from grades 1-12 and fell in love with my work. After a couple years there and a sad goodbye, I made my way back to HCPS and have been working with special needs children ever since! I entered the ACP (Alternative Certification Program) program and after many, many hours (2 years), driving all over the county for trainings/classes, and more assignments than I care to talk about (:D), I am happy to say that I am a fully certified teacher in the state of Florida. I hold a certification in Elementary Ed K-6 and Exceptional Student Ed K-12 (I am, also, working towards my ESOL endorsement). I will be starting my 8th year of teaching (3 years private, 4 years public) and can't wait to see what's in store!

Besides work, I spend my time with my husband (he's a FireMedic), our beautiful 7 year old daughter (who also attends the school I work at), and our 3 dogs and bunny (he's my class pet). I love doing anything and everything with my family!! My absolute favorite hobbies are photography, traveling, reading a good book, trying out new foods, Broadway shows, movies, watching FSU football, baseball, and listening to some good tunes on my iPod. Really, I love a little bit of everything :).
