Included here are 3 flippables for the 3 linear equations in Algebra: the Slope Formula, the Slope-Intercept Equation and the Point-slope Formula. These flippables are easily assembled with a pair of scissors and a stapler.
There are 2 versions of

Types:

Each group is given a long paper strip of DNA, a 3-page story of the missing necklace and directions on how to fingerprint and sequence their DNA. Scissors act as the restriction enzyme, cutting the DNA between every CCGG into varied length

Subjects:

Students work with the circle formulas to find area, circumference, radius and diameter in this activity that doubles as classroom decor. Each pennant also includes a Fun Fact that students can read as they complete their circle problems. Once a

Types:

Students identify slope when it is presented 5 different ways: tables, graphs, sets of coordinates, equations and right triangles in this activity. Students cut, sort then paste the different representations of slope into 6 categories: slope 0

Types:

Students solve systems of equations word problems on 10 task cards in this activity. All systems can be solved with elimination (one or both equations may need multiplication first).
Also included is one bonus card that asks students to find the

Subjects:

Types:

Students match 20 cards of graphs, scatter plots, sets of coordinates, mappings and tables to cutouts of each relation's correct domain and range in this activity. Once all cards are matched, students can also sort their cards into "function" or

Subjects:

Types:

Students find missing side lengths of right triangles and the areas and perimeters of the triangles in this activity that doubles as classroom decor. Students practice using the Pythagorean Theorem while also using their logic to figure out area and

Types:

A quick reference for the rules of divisibility, easily slipped into a notebook or binder. Students who struggle with multiplication and division will benefit from this reference because it gives a concrete set of steps. This file can also be

Students graph linear equations and write their equations in this activity that doubles as classroom decor. Question types include:
1: Graphing from slope-intercept form
2: Graphing from point-slope form
3: Graphing & writing the

Subjects:

Types:

Students match linear and nonlinear function graphs to short motion stories that describe the graphs.
Each story describes a walk between home and school at a mixture of constant and nonconstant rates. Students will need to think about the

Types:

Students multiply fractions with the area model by showing the areas of both fractions (and their intersection) on a common denominator grid. Students then reduce their fractions and write their answers in the boxes on each pennant. Once a pennant

Subjects:

Types:

Students can choose to factor, use the Quadratic Formula or their graphing calculators to solve quadratic word problems covering zeros (roots), vertex x, vertex y and y-intercept. The task cards in this download ask students to find how long objects

Types:

Students cut out 24 puzzle pieces to create 6 completed inverse functions puzzles. Each completed puzzle will have:
1 piece showing a function
1 piece showing the function's inverse
1 piece showing the graphs of both functions
1 piece showing

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a high school Special Ed Math teacher certified to teach Math, Biology and Moderate Disabilities. Over the years I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-algebra, Geometry, Consumer Math, Biology and General Science. In my current position I teach Special Education Algebra 2 and Consumer Math and love it! Teaching Math-phobic students has turned out to be my strength. Once a kid "gets" Math, the whole words opens up.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My number one goal is to always teach Math in a way that includes everyone and thatmakes my students want to go on to take more years of Math. To me, giving my students confidence and desire to continue their Math education is the most important thing I can do.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I'm a published author of a Chicken Soup for the Soul story called "The Eye Patch". This is a completely random fact but did once land me a teaching job. I believe it's in the Teens Talk Middle School book:)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I was always a fan of Science but not so much of cutting things up so I majored in Environmental Science in college. I added a Math certification to my Biology certification and went on to study Mathematics for Teaching in graduate school. A few years later I pursued my Special Education license.
