ABOUT NANCY: Nancy Hobbs has been a public educator for the past 25 years. She has taught grades K through 6 and also spent a year teaching elementary school majors at the college level. She spent several years as an assistant principal in the states of Indiana and Pennsylvania and currently teaches third grade at Peters Township School District in McMurray, PA. Nancy earned her master’s degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA and her doctorate in administrative and policy studies from the University of Pittsburgh. ​ She co-authored Personalized Reading: It’s a Piece of PIE in 2011. This book focuses on the importance of teaching students how to make book selections based on their interests and abilities, while also providing opportunities for students to write and talk about their books.

ABOUT COLLEEN: Colleen has been in education for 20 years. She has taught grades preschool, kindergarten, first, second, and third in Pennsylvania and Washington State. She is the author and owner of Teaching Heart. Teaching Heart has been offering teacher resources since 1998. Colleen graduated in 1998 with a degree in Elementary and Special Education from California University of PA and is currently teaching third grade in Pennsylvania.
