TEACHING EXPERIENCE

• Secondary school teacher since 2006. • Public speaker on improving student success. • Freelance tutor: algebra, geometry, study skills

MY TEACHING STYLE

I focus on empowering the student to understand how learning works. I teach them strategies to improve their learning. I design lessons that help students develop a growth mindset. My teaching style is influenced by people such as Tony Robbins and Jim Rohn, and by areas such as psychology, neuroscience, and educational research.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

First round finalist of the Samsung Teach for Tomorrow contest in the state of Connecticut (reward: 2 samsung galaxy tablets). I frequently provide professional development about integrating technology in the classroom and the growth mindset. Most recently, I presented at the Hartford Convention Center. This was great opportunity because the entire district from the Connecticut Technical High School System attended.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Currently working on completing my thesis for a master's degree in Secondary Education Mathematics.
