TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My passion for teaching seems to be innate. In the second grade, I stayed after school to help my teacher because my parents couldn't pick me up until they got out of work. I took home worksheets and handouts thinking I'd assign them to my future students. I'm not sure where those worksheets and handouts are today, but teaching was always natural for me. I held tutoring gigs, taught Sunday school to preschoolers, and even taught ESL to adults for the local Boys and Girls Clubs of America for 3 years. Now, I am embarking on my 8th year of teaching ELA! My love for reading and writing is hard to deny, and I can't say there's a better job out there suited for me!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Bell to bell instruction that keeps students engaged and accountable for their learning.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

This is something I live by - kindness and compassion are essential to making the world go round: "All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." -Conan O'Brien
