I started my education career doing non-traditional education at an AZA accredited zoological facility. While I was there I developed and ran a wide variety of educational programs for school groups and the general public. I then became a long term substitute where I worked in a wide variety of elementary school settings. As a long term sub I was responsible for all the same things as a full-time teacher including lesson planning and data monitoring. I am now entering my second year as a full-time teacher. I spent my first year as a varying exceptionalities educator serving students in grades K-3 with a wide range of needs and varying abilities. This year I will be in a self contained intensive exceptionalities prek classroom.
My teaching style varies based on my students need. I typically like to get the students involved in the discovery of new strategies to use but sometimes they just need it to be modeled and modeled and modeled some more.
I received two associate degrees from Saint John's River Community College and my bachelors in Theatre from the University of South Florida. I also participated in an intensified alternative certification program through my district last year where I received my teaching certification.
