I have been teaching for over 20 years with the majority of my experience coming at the high school level. During this time I have taught Biology, Accelerated Biology, AP Biology (10 years), Chemistry, Health, Physical Education, and Strength & Conditioning. In addition I have taking my teaching skills outside of the classroom as a high school and club cross country and soccer coach and as an online health and fitness coach.
I believe that learning needs to be an interactive process. I have found that students get the most out of my class when resources are used to support and deepen the understanding of the content being taught.
In 2018 I was recognized as the CIF-San Diego Coach of the Year for Girls Soccer.
I earned my B.A. in Biology (minor in Chemistry) from the University of San Diego and my Masters of Arts in Teaching from National University. I also hold a CSCS (certified strength and conditioning specialist) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as being a member of the National High School Strength Coach Association. .
