I am in my 21st year at Clarenceville High School in Livonia. Over the years I have taught biology, anatomy, forensic science, physics, conceptual physics and conceptual chemistry. I have taught grades 9th-12th.
Inquiry learning, cooperative learning and experimentation. I like to have the students learn by having them figure things out on their own. I do a lot less lecture and a lot more facilitating than I did when I first started teaching. I focus on vocabulary by using word walls, Mix N' Match cards, and by teaching my students medical terminology. I also like to laugh and joke around. The other day I used stuffed animals to discuss bacteria and sepsis. Some of my students might say I'm a little crazy - ha!
My Forensic science program won 4th place at the Oakland Press Excellence in Education Awards, 2005. Clarenceville High School Teacher of the Year 2008/2009
B.A.- Adrian College. Teacher Certification and Masters Degree - Eastern Michigan University
I love to dance. I love to laugh. I have an adorable calico named Greta and a wonderful husband who was a band director for over 20 years!
