TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 14 years of science teaching experience. I have taught grades 4 though 12, but have spent most of my time in 8th grade science, physics, and physical science. I have taught in both inner city schools and rural schools.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach by using art and problem integration. I teach mini lessons and then give the rest of the class over to projects and work time. This gives me time to do intervention with students in need. I like assuming the teacher mentor role as the students puzzle through engineering challenges while also learning real science.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

summa cum laude for both my undergraduate and graduate work.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BS in Education, and a Master's in Science Education. I hold 2 teaching licences which cover 4-12 in any science subject. I am currently working on a graduate certificate in earth science.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am also a part time potter. I am the mother of 2 beautiful girl and the friend of two wonderful dogs.
