TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught science for 21 years. At this time, I am teaching high school Pre- AP Biology to 8th grade gifted students and a 7th grade science class. I am the science curriculum contact for my district. Since I have taught for so long, I have accumulated many cool ideas and activities. I am currently aligning them with NGSS and placing them on the web site.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use 5 E strategy for my lesson plan, but I believe in developing reading and thinking strategies I incorporate many different strategies in my lesson plans. I always begin with engaging ideas to start the thinking process and build upon prior knowledge. My students design and complete their own write up for every lab, because I believe that teaching students to think is my job!
