TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Currently entering my third year teaching 6th grade math and science in East Palo Alto. Working with the Exploratorium's Teacher Institute to hone my craft and take every opportunity to get hands-on and exciting with science! I am constantly changing and expanding my lesson portfolio, and thought I would share some of my better ideas on here.

MY TEACHING STYLE

The only time we use textbooks in my class is when we're building something, so we're big on interactive notebooks and alternative ways of learning information. I hate to lecture and I love when students are teaching each other or learning by doing. I promote growth mindset in my classroom so everything we do comes from a perspective of growing and learning not succeeding or failing.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a multiple subject teaching credential from CSU Chico as well as a bilingual authorization in Spanish. Currently pursuing a FLGS credential from CSU East Bay and possibly a biology credential in the future!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I live in San Francisco and teach in the Silicon Valley at a Title I school. I love being out in the bay area surrounded by amazing PD opportunities and genius teachers. I work with the Exploratorium in the city and SVMI in the south bay for most of my curriculum development. I hope I share some good things!
