TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been employed in the "Greatest Profession on Earth" for 15 years. I taught 9th & 10th grade Global History for the first five years of my career and have had the pleasure of teaching AP World History to 9th & 10th graders since.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am constantly striving to get kids to relate to history by helping them make personal connections between their own lives and the history of the past. My hope is that they will all become champions of social justice and be driven to make a small positive difference in the lives of those less fortunate. “The ends you serve that are selfish will take you no further than yourself but the ends you serve that are for all, in common, will take you into eternity.” ― Marcus Garvey

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Founder/Advisor - Students For Hope Students For Hope is an organization that was launched in order to provide awareness and promote educational opportunities for underprivileged, exploited, and oppressed children around the world. It is an endeavor by a few dedicated and fortunate students, who are willing and able, to advance and promote learning for disadvantaged and less fortunate students who are willing but unable. By providing assistance in the form of tuition support, building of schools, teacher’s salaries, and educational supplies we hope to empower children to escape the bonds of poverty, oppression, and human rights abuses. "Teacher of the Year" 2011/2012
