I have taught Theatre Arts at the Middle (6-8) and High School (9-12) levels for 5 years. I substitute taught for 3 years from grades Pre-K-8. I taught 4th grade in Silver Spring, MD. I recently moved to Boston, MA where I still get to teach 4th grade.
I believe learning is experiential. My students build knowledge and mastery of skills through discovery. I want my students to learn by doing. I integrate knowledge and skills from different subjects. I include cooperative learning with my students, as well as use different learning styles to guide my lesson plans.
Caring Award - Chosen by teachers at my school to earn a Caring Award.
I graduated from the University of MD with a BA in Theatre Arts. I then went on to earn a Masters in Teaching from John Hopkins University. I am currently certified to teach in the State of Maryland. Beyond that, I have worked in camps with children for over a decade and enjoy being able to impart knowledge and new skills.
I love planning new and interesting lessons for my students that are engaging and cooperative. I really love to see them learn from each other, as well as myself. I love to see the look on their faces when they understand a concept for the first time.
