I taught first grade and second grade for over a decade before taking on a new role as a K-6 literacy coach. Throughout my years as a classroom teacher, I supervised student teachers and mentored new teachers. Additionally, I have co-taught a graduate-level course in elementary education at a local university.
I believe in providing my students with plenty of positive reinforcement and a variety of ways to access all academic content. My lessons incorporate authentic, hands-on, and cooperative learning experiences whenever possible, and provide my students with opportunities to build reading and writing skills across all content areas.
