I am fortunate to have taught second grade at the same school for the last nine years. I also previously taught first grade. In my role as a second grade teacher, I have supervised student teachers and mentored new teachers. This past summer, I had the exciting opportunity to co-teach a graduate level course at a local university and look forward to continuing to share what I have learned about teaching and learning in this capacity in the future.
I believe in providing my students with plenty of positive reinforcement and a variety of ways to access all academic content. My lessons incorporate authentic, hands-on, and cooperative learning experiences whenever possible, and provide my students with opportunities to build reading and writing skills across all content areas.
