TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for twenty+ years, almost all in second grade. I'm loving the Common Core and enjoying creating new materials for my classroom and TpT; I'm so glad my fellow TpT sellers have such great products to help me out!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Introduce, explain, model, guide, scaffold, watch, smile. I believe in lots of hands-on experience balanced with as much practice/repetition as needed (in the format the child needs most). I also believe in having fun with my class and making sure they're enjoying the learning process, even when it's challenging.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BA in English (with minors in Spanish and Elementary Education); Masters in Reading

I'm married to a former teacher (who understands the relentless pace of the school year, thank goodness!) and have two children: a boy and a girl, 18 and 11 years old. I have always enjoyed the creative process, first by hand when I was younger and now on the computer. I love making useful, practical materials that support the curriculum and my students' learning. I also love sharing with others and supporting my fellow teachers!
