TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I spent four years teaching and learning in second grade, followed by about a year and a half teaching high school Spanish, and then I returned to the elementary building at my district to teach content and tech skills in the computer lab. Whew! I am now happy to be teaching and learning third grade ELA. :)

MY TEACHING STYLE

interactive, showing rather than telling, modeling explicitly and then giving students guided practice before sending them off to work independently

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Earned the "student teacher of the year award" while student teaching at Grove City College in 2006

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I reside in western Pennsylvania with my husband, my fifth grade daughter, my 4-year-old son, my 2-year-old daughter, and my cats Murphy, Cleo, and Prince. I love kids, photography, reading, Spanish, and designing my own materials to use while I teach.
