TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began teaching in 2011 at an elementary school in an urban setting. Our district encompasses 17 elementary schools, servicing a diverse group of students. We are largely composed of minority students, with many of these students being ESL students. I began my teaching career as a 1st grade teacher, and since have taught 4th and 2nd grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

We enjoy a hands-on approach in my classroom. Many of our learning experiences are in cooperative learning groups. I believe students will retain information when it is touched, heard, seen and questioned. The students are expected not just to memorize information, but evaluate and apply it.
