I have 6 years of experience in special education K-5. Knowledgeable in using iPad as an educational tool, ABA principals, BIPs, life skills, centers, modifying grade level work to the individual needs of students.
Believer in the Zone of Proximal Development. Every student has a potential to develop past what is expected of them or what they expect of themselves; providing the appropriate assistance will give the student enough of a "boost" to achieve the task. Not all students learn the same; which can be frustrating for both the student and the teacher. Teaching one topic in a variety of ways is useful in controlling students' level of frustration, thus remaining open to receiving information from their teacher. My teaching style is a combination of cooperative learning, peer or teacher scaffolding, differentiated instruction, and repetition.
